The KBI is the premier investigative agency for the state of Kansas. It assists local law enforcement agencies during major criminal investigations. The KBI also maintains the state's criminal history records, and provides forensic science services to the Kansas criminal justice community. The KBI is committed to its critical mission of preventing crime and enhancing public safety in Kansas.The KBI does not conduct investigations based solely on citizen reports or referrals.
