Peerless Clothing Inc. was founded in 1919. Alvin Segal, Chairman & CEO joined the company in 1951 . He began his career by working in the factory. He quickly became one of the industries most technically knowledgeable individuals in the production of men's fine tailored clothing. It was Alvin Segal's introduction of the engineered suit into North America that gave the company its biggest break. On January 1, 1989, the Free Trade Agreement opened access to the U.S. market as well as the hiring of Ronny Wurtzburger as President of Peerless Clothing USA. Seeing this as his opportunity to take the US market by storm, he retrained his staff to use this revolutionary method in their production. This new concept together with a substantial investment in machinery and technology resulted in the production of a better quality and a better value garment. The combined efforts of Alvin Segal and Ronny Wurtzburger have grown the company into the largest and most powerful force in the men's tailored clothing industry today. Today Peerless Clothing is the largest supplier of Canadian made and imported men's tailored clothing to most every major department and specialty store retailer in the United States. Its impressive stable of designer labels for both men's and boy's continues to be the biggest area of growth and the trend for the future.
