The organization serves more than 30,000 individual members and 1,600 corporate members, located around the world, representing the communities such as active duty and reserve military and national guards; federal, state, and local government; government contractors; small business; academia; cyber, IT, security, critical infrastructure; communications; intelligence; homeland security; financial institutions; and health IT. AFCEA International was founded in 1946 by a group of communicators led by David Sarnoff. It is headquartered in Fairfax, V.A.
