About Crest Steel

creststeel.com

Crest Steel was founded in 1963 by Phil Steinberg, a former collegiate baseball player for UCLA and professional player for the Pacific Coast League's San Francisco Seals. Phil guided Crest Steel through a joint venture with a major Japanese trading company in 1970 to solidify their growing reputation. Crest Steel expanded to open a branch location in Phoenix just a few years later and by the late '80s, they had become a major distributor of structural steel products including steel beam, shapes, bar, plate, sheet, and steel coil to many industries that now include solar support structures. In early 2007, Crest Steel was purchased by Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., a move that gave us many new opportunities and greatly expanded their inventory and reach, giving us a solid footing in the steel plate distributor business.
