What is NAMD?
NAMD (Nanoscale Molecular Dynamics) is parallel molecular dynamics software designed to provide high-performance simulations of large biomolecular systems. It is based on Charm++ parallel objects and it uses the molecular graphics program i.e., VMD (visual molecular dynamics) for simulation setup and trajectory analysis. It is also file-compatible with AMBER, CHARMM and X-PLOR. It was formerly known as formerly Not Another Molecular Dynamics Program.
